Open Studio
Fog Garden
by Inês Barros
16 May — 18:30 – 20:00
Free / General Public
Fog Garden is the result of Inês Barros' artistic residency in the Shopyard programme. It aims to transform an abandoned space in a shopping centre into a fog-harvesting garden, exploring new urban ecologies and processes of renaturalisation.
The intervention creates a controlled environment where a fog-harvesting device enables sensory experiences between humans and the constructed natural environment.
During the Open Studio, the artist invites the public to explore prototypes and share ideas on possible post-natural futures. In a guided tour format, participants will be able to interact with the installation and experience new ways of sensory engagement with the harvest.
The event begins at 6:30 PM with a talk at the Shopyard headquarters in the Santa Cruz Shopping Centre, followed by a guided tour of the artist’s installation in the basement of the Santa Bárbara Shopping Centre.
