Participatory mapping workshop
with Marisa Fernandes

2, 3, 9 and 10 April
18:00 - 21:00
Free / Registration needed

In her professional practice, architect Marisa Fernandes uses drawing, cartography, and fieldwork to explore visual methodologies that allow for the analysis and representation of the social, cultural, and spatial transformation dynamics of the city and contemporary territory.

Through interaction with the shopkeepers and using techniques such as drawing, model-making, and collage, participants in this workshop will be invited to map the Santa Cruz Shopping Centre, creating a collaborative map that facilitates a dialogue on themes such as usage, (dis)occupation, circulation, and other social and cultural dynamics converging in this shopping centre. From the shops and more intimate spaces to their relationship with the streets of the city, this collaborative workshop will reveal invisible stories and patterns of appropriation, demonstrating how these shopping centres remain vital components of the urban fabric.
